Have you come across the website www.portsmouth.generous.org.uk yet? “generous” can help all of us to make a response to the diocesan environmental policy and to make the world a better place. “generous” encourages us to take small steps that might help us all to live more sustainable lifestyles, and that might make the world a kinder and more generous place to live in. “generous” suggests small actions that you can do to make a difference, such as turning off the taps when you brush your teeth; recycling your greetings cards; not eating meat every day, and you commit yourself to that action. You can also comment on how you find these challenges and see what others are doing. Because you sign up as a member of a specific parish in the Portsmouth Diocese, you can also check how much of a contribution members of your own congregation are making. At “generous” there’s also a ‘News’ page, on which you can add details of what’s happening in your parish to make the world a better place. So far Portsmouth Diocese has 36 members making up the “generous” community. All of these have committed themselves to 141 separate actions. Please join us by clicking on |
