Attending a wedding for the first time the little girl asked her mother, “Why is the bride wearing white?”

Her mother replied, “because white is the colour of happiness, and today is the happiest day of her life.”

The child thought for a moment and then said “So why is the groom wearing black?!”

Two Churchwardens were comparing the sermons of their vicar and curate.

“Personally I prefer the curate,” one said.

“Why’s that?” asked the other.

“Because the curate always says in conclusion and concludes whilst the vicar always says lastly and lasts.”
