St George’s Bereavement Group

St George’s Church Bereavement Group is now meeting again, in St George’s Church Hall every second Monday of every month, from 10am to 12noon. The coffee morning is a social group where you can come and meet people and join us on any trips or outings that we arrange. We usually arrange a lunch out two weeks after our group.

It is also a support group run by Volunteers who are trained, so if anyone needs a bit of support, we can arrange this with you.

There is no charge for this group but a small donation would be appreciated to cover costs. We also have a raffle, so if you want to bring any ‘raffle’ items, that would be great.

The dates for the next few months are: Monday 12th July, Monday 9th August, Monday 13th September, Monday 11th October. Everyone is welcome.

If you would like any more information about this group, or if you are struggling with a bereavement, please call Linda Smith, St George’s Church Bereavement Group co-ordinator, and a meeting can be arranged.

On Monday 23rd August there will be a Memorial Cream Tea in the hall, 2pm - 3.30pm. Please bring a photo of your loved one with his/her name on it. We are celebrating the lives of our loved ones who have died, however recent or long ago.

Entrance, including cream tea, £2.

If you would like to come, please let me know for catering purposes.

Bereavement Support Group

There is also a Bereavement Support Group being set up, which will cost £3 per person. Each meeting will cover a particular subject to do with bereavement.

The next Support Group is on Monday 13th September in the Church Hall from 10am - 11.30am. The subject is “Self Care and Adjusting to the new life after a bereavement.”

If you would like to come to these Support Group sessions you will have to book it please. Again everyone is welcome, just need to know numbers.
