The Life of Christ is a passion play performed at the Wintershall Estate every June which attracts huge crowds and has a cast of over 100, lots of them local people.
On 1st July, 11 people from St George’s attended, travelling in 3 cars. We didn’t have a good start as the Hindhead Tunnel was closed so we had to go via Haslemere – thank goodness for Satnav. We only just made it in time for the start but luckily a lot of people must have had the same experience as they delayed the start so the latecomers didn’t miss anything. We had a slight rain shower during the first act but that soon cleared and it was sunny and cloudy for the rest of the day. Some of us have been several times before and always find it a very emotional experience.
We got home around 5pm so it is quite a long day but I think most people felt it was definitely worth it.
