Autumn 2025 issue

I do hope you have all enjoyed a safe and relaxing summer.

As I had recently been given the latest Book of New Titles from the Bible Reading Fellowship, I thought I would make a selection from there for this edition.

Divine Windows by Dave Gregory

Reimagining the science and faith discourse and encouraging worship through reflection and imagery.

Looking through a fresh lens of wonder, play and order, scientist and minister David Gregory invites you to see something of God’s creative hand on the world around us revealed by the creativity of science. Through reflective commentary and an inspiring series of nature and science imagery like those seen in popular documentaries, the shaping of creation by a higher purpose is revealed in the vision of the universe unveiled by science.

Attentive to God by Tony Horsfall.  Being aware of God’s presence in daily life.

Mindfulness is not new, and God’s people down the centuries have always been encouraged to practise ‘the sacrament of the present moment’ – that is, to notice God in the event of every day life and become attentive to that presence. Tony Horsfall explores six Bible stories that describe individuals encountering God, showing how we can learn how to notice the presence of the divine for ourselves. He also unpacks key spiritual practices that anyone can follow, and introduces insights from influential writers on the awareness of God in the ordinary.
